The photograph is of Hajj Muhammad Hasan Amin Nada, a veteran craftsman at the Dar al-Kiswah, embroidering a section of the belt of the Ka‘bah (the hizam) known as a kardashiyyah. [for other employees of the Dar al-Kiswah, see ARC.pp 15].
